Accident or Murder ? 5,053-Page Chargesheet Reveals New Details in Ketan Case
Pune : A 5,053-page chargesheet has been filed by Pune Rural Police in the Ketan Agarwal murder case, bringing a massive body of digital, technical and witness evidence before the court. According to the chargesheet, police have named around 80–85 witnesses, including three people who allegedly saw accused Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary at the location around the time of the incident. The case initially appeared to be a tragic accident at Lohagad Fort, where Ketan was believed to have fallen nearly 400 feet while taking photographs near a cliff.
However, the investigation reportedly took a dramatic turn after CCTV footage near the fort’s ticket counter showed a hoodie-clad person allegedly following Ketan and Siya. Police later identified the person as Chetan. Investigators allege that Ketan’s fiancée Siya and Chetan, whom police describe as being in a relationship, planned the killing and attempted to make it appear as an accidental fall.
The chargesheet reportedly contains WhatsApp chats, photographs, mobile-phone data, call-detail records, witness statements, technical analysis and documentary evidence. Police also allege that Siya had searched online for a similar accident at Lohagad in 2025 in which a woman had died, as well as searches connected with the Sonam Raghuvanshi murder case.
Investigators further claim that Chetan left his phone at his workplace and kept its internet switched off from around 7 am until 5:40 pm on the day of the incident. Call records allegedly showed thousands of calls between Siya and Chetan, including several lengthy conversations. The police case is that the two were in a relationship and had allegedly planned Ketan’s murder together. The court will now consider the evidence presented in the chargesheet as the legal proceedings move forward.
