Gandhinagar, Gujarat : The BJP has launched a counter-offensive against the alleged misinformation being spread by the opposition regarding the SIR (Special Investment Region) issue. To strengthen public trust in democratic institutions, the BJP organized massive padyatras (foot marches) today in Ahmedabad and Rajkot under the ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ campaign. During these events, top leaders—including Union Minister J. P. Nadda—launched sharp attacks against the Congress and the INDIA alliance.
In Rajkot, the march proceeded from the statue of Sardar Patel at Bahumali Bhavan to Trikon Baug; participants included State In-charge Tarun Chugh, State President Jagdish Vishwakarma, and key organizational leaders. Meanwhile, in Ahmedabad, a march was held from Vyaswadi in Nava Vadaj to Subhash Bridge, attended by leaders such as Union Minister J. P. Nadda, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi remarked, “The country cannot be run on ‘filmy’ dialogues; one must go among the people and put in the hard work.” “Previously, EVMs were blamed for defeats; now, ‘SIR’ is being brought to the forefront.” In this context, BJP State In-charge Tarun Chugh alleged that “Rahul Gandhi is pursuing the agenda of the Muslim League, not that of the Congress.”
In Rajkot, State President Jagdish Vishwakarma sharply criticized a statement made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, remarking, “Sensing defeat, the Congress is now overstepping all bounds of decency. The people of Gujarat have stood firmly by the BJP for the last 31 years.” Through this padyatra (foot march), the BJP has made its aggressive strategy against the opposition clear across the state.
