Puri, Odisha : The countdown has begun for the world-famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Puri. As the sacred sounds of devotion begin to echo through Shree Kshetra, millions of hearts eagerly await the divine journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra.

The holy city of Puri is glowing with faith, hope, and spiritual energy as the world-famous Rath Yatra draws closer. Every wheel, every colour, and every decoration of the majestic chariots carries centuries of tradition, devotion, and the emotions of countless devotees waiting for the Lord’s grand appearance.

Only a three days left for the grand festival. The holy city of Shree Kshetra has transformed into a centre of devotion and celebration as preparations for the annual chariot festival have entered the final stage.The construction work of the three majestic chariots Nandighosha of Lord Jagannath, Taladhwaja of Lord Balabhadra, and Darpadalana of Devi Subhadra is nearing completion.

The traditional artisans and servitors involved in the centuries-old process are working tirelessly to ensure that every detail of the sacred chariots is perfectly prepared before the grand procession.

Along with the chariots, the 12 beautifully decorated wooden horses that will be attached to the three chariots have also been made ready. The horses have undergone careful restoration by the Rupakara servitors, while the Chitrakara servitors have added intricate artwork and vibrant colours, giving them a divine appearance.

This year, the horses have been prepared in different traditional colours according to the respective chariots. The horses for Lord Jagannath’s Nandighosha chariot have been painted white, those for Lord Balabhadra’s Taladhwaja chariot have been given a black colour, while the horses for Devi Subhadra’s Darpadalana chariot have been decorated in a saffron shade.

As the sacred chariots stand ready and the Grand Road of Puri prepares to welcome millions of devotees, the atmosphere in the city is filled with spiritual energy and excitement. From skilled craftsmen to temple servitors, countless people are contributing to make the historic Rath Yatra a grand success.

The annual festival, known for its massive gathering of devotees from across India and the world, remains one of the most significant celebrations of Odisha’s rich cultural and religious heritage.

With preparations reaching their final moments, Puri is all set to witness another spectacular journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra.
