NewDelhi : Pakistan is set to script history on the global beauty stage as the country will participate in the Miss World pageant for the very first time. Representing the nation at the prestigious 75th Miss World Festival, scheduled to be held in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5, will be 24-year-old Anika Meraj, who was crowned Miss World Pakistan 2026.
The historic announcement has sparked widespread discussion both within Pakistan and internationally, with many describing it as a landmark moment for the country’s representation in global pageantry.
Anika Meraj received the Miss World Pakistan 2026 crown during a grand ceremony held at Faletti’s Hotel in Lahore. The crown was presented by Dr. Shafaq Akhtar, Miss Pakistan Universal 2022, and Ataullah Gujjar, Mr. Pakistan World, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan’s beauty pageant history.
The official Miss World Instagram account confirmed that Meraj will represent Pakistan at the international competition, making her the country’s first-ever contestant at the globally renowned pageant.
Beyond the glamour, Meraj has an impressive academic background. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Economics and is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in Auditing and Accounting. Her long-term ambition is to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Apart from academics, Meraj is actively involved in social causes, particularly advocating for children’s rights and girls’ education. She has expressed her commitment to empowering young girls through education and contributing to Pakistan’s future development.
Meraj is no stranger to the international pageant circuit. She has previously represented Pakistan in several global competitions, including Miss Earth, Miss Global, Miss Cosmo, Miss Eco International, and Miss Aura International, gaining valuable international exposure.
