Residents thank DC Dr. Basharat Qayoom District Administration for prompt restoration work

Pulwama : Residents of Ratnipora village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have lauded the prompt action of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, and the District Administration after a minor landslide triggered by continuous monsoon rains threatened several residential houses.

The incident occurred near an under-construction flood protection bund, where persistent rainfall loosened the soil, causing a large mass of earth to slide downhill and creating panic among local residents.Following the incident, the matter was immediately brought to the notice of the district administration.

Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Basharat Qayoom, the concerned departments rushed to the spot and launched restoration and safety measures without delay.Within 24 hours, the debris was cleared, the affected area was stabilized, and protective measures were strengthened, significantly reducing the risk to nearby homes.

Residents expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner and the District Administration for their swift and effective response, saying the timely intervention prevented further damage and ensured the safety of families living in the area.

They also appreciated the coordinated efforts of all officials and departments involved in restoring normalcy.
