Three Teachers and Three Students Among the Victims; 15 Injured as School Turns Into a Scene of Terror

New Delhi : A horrifying shooting at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Thailand’s Nonthaburi province, near Bangkok, has sent shockwaves across the country after a student allegedly opened fire on Friday morning, leaving eight people dead, including the shooter, and at least 15 others injured.

According to reports, the victims included three teachers and three students, while the teenage attacker reportedly died by suicide after the shooting. The incident unfolded in the morning hours when the school was filled with students and teachers, turning what should have been a routine school day into a terrifying scene of panic and chaos.

Authorities said the violence may have begun before the school attack, with the student allegedly shooting his grandparents before travelling to the school carrying a firearm believed to have belonged to a family member. He then allegedly opened fire inside the school, triggering fear among students, teachers and staff.

Police and emergency responders immediately rushed to the area, secured the premises and began transporting injured victims to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment. The motive behind the attack remains unknown, and investigators are working to establish what prompted the student to carry out the shooting and how he gained access to the firearm.

The deaths of teachers and students have deepened the tragedy, leaving families and the wider community devastated. Thailand Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul expressed his sorrow over the incident, wished the injured a speedy recovery and directed authorities to provide necessary assistance to the victims and their families.
