Awantipora : Deputy Inspector General of Police South Kashmir Range (SKR), Javaid Iqbal Mattoo IPS, on Monday visited Police District Awantipora and chaired a comprehensive security and law and order review meeting at the District Police Office (DPO), Awantipora.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Army and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), including the Commander, 1st Sector Rashtriya Rifles; DIG CRPF, SKOR Awantipora; SSP Awantipora; Commanding Officers of 42 RR, 50 RR and 55 RR; Commandants of 130, 110, 180 and 185 CRPF Battalions; Additional SP Awantipora; SDPOs; DySPs of SOG and other senior police officers.
Comprehensive Security Assessment
During the meeting, a detailed assessment of the prevailing security scenario and law and order situation in Police District Awantipora was conducted.
Senior officers apprised the DIG of the current security environment, operational preparedness and various measures being undertaken to further strengthen the security apparatus across the district
The meeting focused extensively on strengthening the security grid, improving intelligence-sharing mechanisms, enhancing area domination and maintaining peace and public order.
The officers also reviewed the preparedness of various security agencies to effectively respond to any emerging security or law and order challenges.
DIG Stresses Coordination, Intelligence Sharing
DIG SKR Javaid Iqbal Mattoo stressed the need for close, continuous and effective coordination among the Police, Army and CAPFs.
He emphasised timely sharing of intelligence inputs and called for coordinated operational strategies to ensure an effective response to emerging threats and challenges.
The DIG directed all officers to maintain maximum alertness, vigilance and operational readiness, while ensuring that any situation affecting peace and public order is dealt with promptly, professionally and in a coordinated manner.
Focus on Professional Policing & Public Safety The DIG also underlined the importance of professional policing, optimum deployment of manpower, public cooperation and inter-agency coordination.
He stressed that all security arrangements should remain focused on safeguarding the lives and property of citizens and ensuring a peaceful and secure environment across Police District Awantipora.
During the meeting, SSP Awantipora briefed the DIG about the prevailing security and law and order scenario and apprised him of the measures being implemented to further strengthen the security mechanism and maintain continued peace and stability in the district.
Officers Asked to Remain Proactive
DIG SKR directed all officers to remain vigilant, proactive and result-oriented, while maintaining close coordination with all security stakeholders.
He emphasised that timely intelligence inputs, effective ground-level policing and coordinated efforts among different security agencies would remain critical for maintaining peace, security and public order in the area.
The Police District Awantipora reiterated its commitment to strengthening the security grid, maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety and security of the general public.
