Hailing from Waghama village of Bijbehara in Anantnag Lone has emerged as a symbol of courage, determination and sporting talent.
Despite losing both arms in a childhood accident he pursued his passion for cricket and went on to become a prominent para-cricketer and captain of the Jammu and Kashmir para-cricket team.
His invitation to the Independence Day reception is being seen as a proud moment for Jammu and Kashmir and a recognition of his extraordinary journey.
