Jammu Kashmir : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs and MLAs staged a protest in Jammu on Sunday, targeting the National Conference-led Jammu and Kashmir Government over what they described as failures in governance and non-fulfilment of electoral commitments.

The protesting BJP leaders alleged that several promises made by the ruling National Conference during the election campaign have either remained unfulfilled or have not been implemented effectively. They raised concerns over issues affecting the public and demanded greater accountability from the government.

Raising slogans against the administration, the BJP representatives accused the government of failing to address key public concerns and questioned its performance on development, employment and delivery of public services.

The protesters said the people of Jammu and Kashmir had voted with expectations of better governance and faster development, and urged the government to take concrete steps to address pending issues and fulfil the commitments made to the electorate.

The BJP leaders also criticised what they termed administrative shortcomings and delays in implementing government policies, demanding transparency and accountability in decision making.

The protest reflects the continuing political confrontation between the BJP and the ruling National Conference, with the opposition stepping up criticism of the government’s performance and seeking answers on its election promises.

The BJP leaders said they would continue to raise issues concerning the people and hold the government accountable for its policies, decisions and performance.
