Ahmedabad, Gujarat : The month of Shravan is currently underway and today is the second Monday. Former Deputy Chief Minister of the state Nitin Patel also came to visit Somnath Dada with his family on Shravan Monday and bowed his head to Somnath Mahadev. He also prayed to Mahadev for good rain. During this, he also gave an indicative statement on prohibition in Gujarat.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said about prohibition that the Gujarat government gets thousands of crores of income from lifting prohibition but law and order in Gujarat is strong only because of prohibition. He said that most Gujaratis are in support of prohibition. He described Shankarsinh Vaghela’s statement on freedom from prohibition as personal. He said that it is his personal matter whether Shankarsinh gives a statement.
On the recently discussed Gen-Z and protests, former Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said that the movements were happening even during independence…and have happened even after independence. During the Navnirman movement in Gujarat, I too had joined the movement in my youth. He said that, “Zen Ji” is a new word. But the youth always protest in their own way when they get an idea, inspiration or encouragement. Whichever government or leadership is in power, they should also explain the youth with love and end the youth movement. Nitin Patel further said that the government has wisely brought a happy solution to the movement at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar too.
It should be noted that the rain has been delayed this year. While the farmers are eagerly waiting for the rain, they also prayed to Somnath Mahadev to give good rain.
It is worth noting that recently, the Latha incident in Gujarat, which is under liquor ban, caused a lot of havoc and took the lives of many people. Due to which discussions have started on the liquor ban. The fake liquor incident in Bhavnagar has claimed the lives of 13 people so far. Amidst all this, Shankarsinh Vaghela made a statement about liquor ban which came under discussion. On the other hand, apart from Nitin Patel, BJP leader Jitu Vaghani has also made it clear that liquor ban will remain in force in Gujarat.
