Nagpur : Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has stated that he can no longer handle the same workload as before and that the time has come to hand over responsibilities to the new generation.
Speaking at an event in Nagpur, Gadkari noted that his involvement in public work has decreased recently and that the younger generation should be given the opportunity to carry the work forward. Gadkari’s remarks come amidst growing speculation regarding a potential cabinet reshuffle within the central government.
Gadkari described how his participation in day-to-day activities has reduced. He said, “The work should be handed over to the new generation. A new generation has arrived, and the older generation is guiding them.”
Gadkari added, “I have been working continuously in public life for the past 30 years. I have witnessed many ups and downs and received numerous awards, but now I cannot work as much; the new generation should be given the chance to work.”
However, Gadkari also spoke about future development initiatives, noting that the scope of work would expand in the coming years. He stated that the objective is to ensure no tribal village in Maharashtra remains without electricity and that development is visible across the entire state.
The Union Minister’s statement follows major organizational changes within the BJP. This marks the first overhaul of this magnitude since Amit Shah’s tenure as party president in 2015.
Just last week, the BJP announced its new national team under the leadership of party president Nitin Naveen. The 65-member team includes 51 new faces, signaling a significant generational shift within the organization.
