Odisha’s Koraput Coffee Goes Global ! BRICS Media Kit Celebrates India’s Rich Cultural Diversity

New Delhi : From the aromatic hills of Koraput to the traditional flavours and crafts of different Indian states, India’s rich diversity is set to receive a global showcase at the 18th BRICS Summit, with Odisha’s renowned Koraput Coffee featuring prominently in the special BRICS Media Kit prepared for invited journalists from India and across the world.

The summit, scheduled to be held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on September 12 and 13, will bring together international media representatives, offering them a glimpse of India beyond its diplomacy and development story through its unique local products, traditional foods, handicrafts and cultural heritage.

Alongside Koraput Coffee, the media kit includes Bihar’s traditional sattu and makhana, as well as famous handicrafts from Gujarat and other products representing India’s diverse culinary and cultural landscape. The initiative by the Ministry of External Affairs, in collaboration with different states, aims to present the story of a vibrant and diverse India to an international audience, highlighting how local traditions, indigenous products and innovation are becoming part of the country’s larger global identity.

With the participation of the Odisha government, visitors and journalists at the summit will also get an opportunity to experience the distinctive taste and aroma of Koraput Coffee, giving the celebrated Odisha product another major platform for national and international recognition. Adding an artistic touch to the summit, Odisha’s Guinness World Record-winning miniature artist Vijay Kumar has created extraordinarily tiny portraits of the five BRICS member-country leaders Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa along with miniature BRICS lettering, national flags and the 2026 summit logo.

The 23-year-old artist and electrical engineer reportedly spent months creating the intricate artworks using specialised miniature tools, with each leader’s portrait measuring just around one centimetre in height.

His remarkable craftsmanship has attracted international attention, with the South African Embassy reportedly approaching him regarding the possibility of sending the artworks abroad. Known for his miniature creations, including artworks linked to major sporting events, Vijay has previously earned recognition, awards and records at national and international levels.

Together, the presence of Koraput Coffee and Odisha’s extraordinary miniature art at the BRICS platform reflects a powerful message India’s global story is not only about diplomacy, technology and economic growth, but also about the flavours, traditions, creativity and talent emerging from every corner of the country.
