NewDelhi : A series of alarming bomb threat emails sent to schools and a government facility in Delhi triggered a major security response on Monday morning, September 21, putting authorities and school administrations on high alert. Several educational institutions across different parts of the national capital reportedly received emails threatening possible bomb attacks, prompting immediate evacuation measures and extensive searches by security agencies. Schools in areas including Chanakyapuri, Hauz Khas, Rohini, Rajendra Nagar and Karol Bagh were among those reportedly affected.

According to the reported contents of the threatening messages, the emails allegedly included provocative references to making Delhi “Khalistan” and warned people against travelling on trains to or from the national capital between September 21 and 29. The messages also reportedly claimed that IED explosions could be carried out along railway routes connecting Punjab with Delhi. Following receipt of the emails, school authorities immediately informed the Delhi Police and Delhi Fire Services, while students and staff at affected institutions were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

Police teams, fire service personnel, bomb detection and disposal squads, dog squads and other security personnel were subsequently deployed to conduct detailed searches of the premises. The Delhi Fire Service reportedly received several calls concerning bomb threats, including alerts linked to institutions such as Mother’s International School in Hauz Khas, Navy Children’s School in Chanakyapuri and Bal Bharati School in Rohini, along with other schools and institutions.

Security teams thoroughly checked classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, buildings and surrounding areas, but no explosive device or suspicious object was reportedly found during the searches conducted so far. Authorities are therefore examining the possibility that the threatening emails may have been fabricated or sent with the intention of creating panic, although the investigation into their source and credibility remains underway.

Security agencies are continuing to verify every threat and trace the origin of the messages, while schools and public institutions remain cautious amid heightened security arrangements. The incident has once again highlighted the need for swift emergency protocols whenever educational institutions receive such threats, particularly when the safety of students and staff is involved.
