Ahmedabad, Gujarat : The Railway Department has taken a significant decision to strengthen connectivity between three major states: Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. Responding to the long-standing demands of passengers and travelers, official approval has been granted to launch a new superfast express train between Varanasi and Sabarmati (Ahmedabad). Passing through Jaipur and Ajmer, this train is expected to provide a major boost to religious tourism and trade.
This decision by the Railway Board will establish a direct link between Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. The introduction of a convenient and rapid travel option between Varanasi and Gujarat will greatly benefit not only tourists but also businesspeople and students. Furthermore, it will provide direct connectivity to renowned religious and tourist destinations located along this route.
This new superfast express train (numbered 12205/12206) will pass through several key railway junctions. It is scheduled to make stops at major stations, including Govindpuri, Tundla, Bharatpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, and Abu Road. Varanasi to Sabarmati (Train No. 12206): This train will depart from Varanasi Junction at 17:30 and arrive at Sabarmati at 20:15 the following day.
Sabarmati to Varanasi (Train No. 12205): In the return direction, this train will depart from Sabarmati station at 05:20 and arrive at Varanasi Junction at 06:30 the following day.
To ensure passenger safety and a comfortable journey, the railway administration has allocated a modern LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) rake consisting of 22 coaches for this train. Primary maintenance for this long-distance train will be carried out at Varanasi. Additionally, for the convenience of passengers, special arrangements for water refilling have been made at Govindpuri, Tundla, and Jaipur stations.
The date for the commencement of regular operations for this train eagerly awaited by travelers across the country will be announced by the Railway Department shortly.
