New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk held wide-ranging talks to strengthen the India Poland Strategic Partnership, focusing on expanding cooperation in emerging technologies, defence, trade and investment.

Building on the Strategic Partnership established in 2024, the two leaders explored new avenues of collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI), green technologies, critical minerals and defence, while reaffirming their commitment to deepening ties in education, culture and people to people exchanges.

A key outcome of the discussions was the agreement to work towards doubling bilateral trade by 2030, reflecting the two countries’ ambition to expand economic engagement and create fresh opportunities for businesses and industries.

The leaders also underscored the importance of the proposed India European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA), noting its potential to unlock new opportunities for trade, investment and industrial cooperation between India and European markets.

During the talks, Modi and Tusk exchanged views on regional and global developments and reaffirmed their commitment to a rules-based international order. They also emphasised the need for reforms in global institutions, including the United Nations Security Council.

The discussions marked a further step in strengthening India Poland relations, with both sides seeking to broaden strategic cooperation and build stronger economic and diplomatic ties in the coming years.
