Mumbai : Actor Imran Khan nephew of Aamir Khan and known for his roles in films such as Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is facing trouble. Following his participation in a protest, the actor has received a notice from the Mumbai Police, ordering him to leave India by October 28.
According to reports, the Mumbai Police has issued a ‘Leave India Notice’ (LIN) to Imran Khan, directing him to depart from the country by October 28. On October 10, Imran Khan took part in a protest at Mumbai’s August Kranti Maidan, which demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. During the demonstration, the actor was briefly taken into custody by the police. The notice states that because Imran Khan is not an Indian citizen, his participation in the protest has prompted the Mumbai Police to issue this directive.
Media reports indicate that BJP leader Kirit Somaiya filed a complaint against Imran Khan, asserting that he is not an Indian citizen and holds United States (US) citizenship. Consequently, it is alleged that by participating in the protest demanding the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar, he has violated the law. A complaint regarding the violation of the Foreigners Act has been registered against Imran at the Gamdevi Police Station. According to the police, this complaint has also been forwarded to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO).
