New Delhi : A political firestorm has erupted following objectionable remarks made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge against PM Modi. Criticizing the comments on Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that the statement is an insult to India and an assault on the dignity of politics.

Rajnath Singh remarked, “I believe this is not merely an insult to an individual or a family, but an insult to the entire nation of India. It is also an attack on the dignity of politics. In a democracy, you are free to express your opposition, question policies, and criticize the government—but please, do not cross the boundaries of personal decency.”

“That is my advice. Today, the Congress has not only weakened politically but, in my view, has also suffered an ideological collapse. The Congress must remember that in a democracy, the public observes everything and delivers a fitting response when the time is right.”

“I want to make it clear to the Congress that Prime Minister Modi will neither be swayed by such remarks nor will his resolve to serve the people be diminished in any way.”

Accusing the Congress of justifying Kharge’s comments, he added, “The Congress did not stop there; they are now further hurting public sentiment by attempting to justify Kharge’s words. Instead of acknowledging their mistake and expressing regret, the Congress is busy defending and validating this statement.”

It is worth noting that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge made these remarks in Patna during an event marking the 139th birth anniversary of Bihar’s first Chief Minister, Krishna Sinha. The incident occurred when an individual in the audience interrupted Kharge’s speech to assert that PM Modi “isn’t going anywhere.” Regarding which, Kharge made an objectionable remark about the PM.
