Anantnag, J & K : Anganwadi workers and helpers on Thursday held a demonstration in Anantnag, seeking immediate action on their unresolved demands and urging the authorities to address their concerns without further delay.
The protest was organised by the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association under the leadership of its president, Fahmida Akhtar. A large number of workers and helpers participated in the demonstration.
The protesters highlighted several issues related to their service conditions and work-related concerns, while raising slogans demanding action from the government.
Addressing the gathering, Fahmida Akhtar said Anganwadi personnel have an important role in delivering services at the grassroots, particularly in the fields of child care, nutrition and welfare.
She appealed to the concerned department and administration to examine their grievances and take practical steps for their early resolution.
The protesting workers called for direct engagement between the government and their representatives, saying their pending demands should be considered on priority.
They further stated that they would continue to raise their concerns through peaceful and democratic channels until appropriate action is taken.
The workers also appealed to the authorities to acknowledge their services and resolve their legitimate issues at the earliest.
