Operations Conducted in Baramulla, Shopian, Anantnag, Kupwara and Bandipora in Connection with Terror-Related Investigation
Srinagar, J & K : The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Saturday conducted searches at multiple locations across the Kashmir Valley as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations related to online promotion of terrorism and the recruitment of individuals into terrorist organisations officials said.
According to officials, CIK teams conducted coordinated searches at various premises in Baramulla, Shopian, Anantnag, Kupwara, Bandipora and other areas of the Valley.
The searches are linked to FIR No. 03/2023, registered at Police Station CIK Srinagar under Sections 505 and 153-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with Sections 13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Officials said the case pertains to allegations that online platforms were being used to promote or glorify terrorism and to influence, radicalise and allegedly facilitate the recruitment of vulnerable individuals into terrorist groups.
During the searches, investigators examined the identified premises and collected documents, electronic devices and other material considered relevant to the case, officials said.
The search operation was continuing at the time of filing this report. Authorities have not released details about any recoveries, detentions or subsequent legal action arising from the searches.
