Dehradun : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday announced the ‘Loktantra Bachao’ campaign, launching a sharp attack on the Congress amid the opposition party’s ‘Nyaya Yatra’ in the state.

Dhami criticised the Congress over its repeated electoral defeats, arguing that the party’s setbacks began decades before Gyanesh Kumar assumed charge as Chief Election Commissioner.

He alleged that instead of working to regain public confidence, the Congress was targeting constitutional institutions. The Chief Minister’s remarks came as the opposition party launched its ‘Nyaya Yatra’ in Uttarakhand.

The exchange marks a fresh political confrontation between the BJP and Congress, with electoral accountability and the functioning of constitutional institutions emerging as key points of contention.

Dhami’s announcement of the ‘Loktantra Bachao’ campaign and his criticism of the Congress are expected to add to the political debate surrounding the opposition’s campaign in the state.
