Stranger Than a Movie ! Woman Presumed Dead Returns Alive After 5 Years

Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh : In a shocking twist that sounds straight out of a movie, a woman who was presumed dead and whose family had even performed her last rites has returned home alive after nearly five years, leaving her family overjoyed and raising serious questions about the police investigation.

The astonishing incident was reported from Kaithwalia alias Bargadahi village under the Sonauli Kotwali area of Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj district. The woman, identified as Isarawati, had gone missing from her home around five years ago. As she was reportedly mentally disabled, her family made extensive efforts to trace her and also lodged a missing-person complaint with the police.

However, despite repeated searches, there was no information about her whereabouts. During this period, police recovered the badly mutilated body of an unidentified woman from a field and called Isarawati’s family to identify it. Based on the clothes found on the body, the family believed that the deceased was Isarawati. The body was subsequently handed over to the family, who performed the last rites, believing that their missing relative had died.

But nearly five years later, an unbelievable twist unfolded when Isarawati suddenly returned home alive. Her appearance left the family stunned and emotional, as the woman they had mourned and cremated years earlier was standing before them alive.

Her return, however, has opened up a major mystery: if Isarawati was alive, then whose body was cremated five years ago ? Questions are now being raised over the identity of the unidentified woman and the process through which the body was allegedly identified as Isarawati’s.

While the family is celebrating her unexpected return, the mysterious death of the unidentified woman has now become the centre of a fresh investigation, with authorities expected to probe how such a major identification error occurred and who the deceased woman actually was.
