Srinagar, J & K : J&K Congress party’s provincial president Tariq Hameed Karra declared that residents of the Union territory find themselves caught between two governing authorities due to the continued absence of complete statehood.

He slammed the BJP for what he termed its hypocritical stance.

Karra pointed out that following the 2019 revocation of the region’s special constitutional status and its subsequent reduction to a union territory, the BJP made numerous pledges to J&K’s younger generation yet he asserted these commitments have gone unfulfilled.

He claimed that the union territory’s administration has presided over soaring joblessness, examination paper leaks, and hiring scandals affecting the youth.

While affirming that the Congress party advocates for responsibility in governance, Karra insisted that the BJP ought to initiate such scrutiny within its own ranks.

Furthermore he characterized the BJP’s current agitations over civic grievances as a calculated maneuver to steer public focus away from its own documented inadequacies in tackling regional concerns throughout its tenure in power.
