Opposition should listen calmly when Shah speaks: Rijiju

New Delhi : Home Minister Amit Shah will answer in the House on the police action during the student protest in Delhi. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju gave information about this on Monday. Kiren Rijiju said that when Shah speaks, the opposition should listen to him calmly.

Rijiju said that one by one the answers will be given. He said that when Amit Shah speaks, the opposition should not create ruckus during his reply.

However, the government has not given information about when Shah will speak. On July 20, the police lathicharged students during the Parliament March in Delhi. The same day was also the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament.

This statement of the government has come at a time when the opposition parties are continuously demanding answers from Shah on the police action during the student protest and the theft in the Ram temple.

Amidst sloganeering and uproar by the opposition, the Lok Sabha passed the Tribunals Reforms Bill, 2026 without discussion. After which the proceedings of the House were adjourned till Tuesday.

The session ends on August 13. During the last three weeks of proceedings, the opposition has been continuously demanding that the Home Minister come to the House and give a statement regarding the action of the Delhi Police.

Opposition MPs also protested on this issue in Parliament on Monday. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that the uproar will continue until Shah comes to Parliament and gives a statement. The Congress has issued a whip to all its MPs to be present in the House on August 10, 11 and 12.

Four important bills were introduced in the Lok Sabha amid the opposition’s uproar. These include the Tribunals Reforms Bill, 2026, the Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation Amendment Bill, 2026. Apart from this, the Kerala (Change in Name) Bill, 2026 and the National Cooperative Development Corporation Amendment Bill, 2026 were also introduced.

Opposition MPs protested against the government in the Parliament premises on Monday. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other opposition MPs brought posters of ‘Amit Shah Jawab Do’ and raised slogans against Shah.

The Congress issued a whip to all its MPs and ordered them to be present in the House from August 10 to August 12.
