New Delhi : Wrapping up her State visit to Romania, President Droupadi Murmu interacted with members of the Indian diaspora and Romanian “Friends of India” during a reception hosted by the Ambassador of India.Addressing the gathering, the President described the Indian community as the backbone of India–Romania ties, applauding its contribution to Romania’s growth while proudly representing India’s values abroad.
She highlighted the role of Indian professionals across sectors such as information technology, healthcare, research and education in expanding cooperation between the two countries.
Emphasising the importance of people-to-people connections, President Murmu said the enduring friendship between India and Romania is driven by the strong bond shared by their citizens. She encouraged the diaspora to continue contributing to India’s progress and support the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The President also acknowledged the Romanian “Friends of India” for embracing Indian culture, traditions and spirituality, noting that their admiration further strengthens the friendship between the two nations.
The reception was attended by Minister of State Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, Members of Parliament Dr. Dinesh Sharma and Vijay Baghel, along with senior government officials.
