Bihar Police Arrest Accused After Gruesome Murder That Shocked Entire Village
Jehanabad, Bihar : In a horrifying incident that has sent shockwaves across Bihar, a 25-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her younger brother-in-law following an argument over a delay in serving food. The gruesome crime took place on Tuesday in Imadpur village under the Parsa Bigha police station limits in Jehanabad district.
According to police and local reports, the victim, identified as Anshu Devi, wife of Dharmendra Kumar, was alone at home while other family members had gone to the fields for agricultural work. Her younger brother-in-law, Kunal Kumar, reportedly returned home and asked for food. When there was a delay in serving the meal, an argument allegedly broke out between the two.
Police said the accused allegedly lost his temper, attacked Anshu Devi with a sharp-edged weapon, and killed her on the spot. In an act that has horrified residents, he allegedly beheaded the victim and hung her severed head from a banyan tree located on the outskirts of the village.
The gruesome sight left villagers in shock. After discovering the body and the severed head hanging from the tree, residents immediately informed the police. Villagers also managed to catch the accused before handing him over to the authorities.
A police team rushed to the scene, recovered the body, seized the weapon believed to have been used in the crime, and arrested the accused. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, while investigators continue to question the accused to determine the exact sequence of events and motive behind the brutal killing.
The chilling murder has triggered outrage and fear across the region, with many questioning how a domestic dispute could escalate into such an extreme act of violence. Police have registered a murder case and stated that further investigation is underway. Authorities are also examining whether the accused had any history of violent behaviour or mental health issues, though no official conclusion has been announced.
