Srinagar: .Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has indicated that the long-awaited expansion of the J&K Council of Ministers will take place after August 15.
Speaking on the issue, Omar Abdullah said the government intends to proceed with the cabinet expansion but clarified that the exercise is unlikely to be completed before Independence Day. “Will do it, but not before August 15,” he said.
The proposed expansion has been the subject of intense political speculation, with discussions centred on ministerial representation and portfolio allocation within the ruling alliance. While the Chief Minister did not reveal any names or a specific timeline, he made it clear that the process remains on the government’s agenda and is expected to move forward after the August 15 celebrations.
