New Delhi : Rahul Gandhi held a press conference in Delhi on Monday and once again raised the issue of lathi charge at Jantar Mantar. Rahul asked – ‘Who gave the order for the lathi charge. Who is responsible for this, come forward. Home Minister Amit Shah should answer in the House. The opposition has 3 demands – the responsibility of the person who fired at the youth should be made clear. Second – the Prime Minister should apologize for the incident and third – there should be a discussion on the issue of theft of Ram temple donations.’
1 hour after Rahul Gandhi’s press conference, JP Nadda held a conference and said – ‘No bullets were fired at Jantar Mantar. Rahul Gandhi is spreading misleading stories. The Home Minister is ready to answer everything. But you don’t run away from the debate.’
Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju had said in the Lok Sabha, ‘Home Minister Amit Shah will give a detailed answer in the House. However, the opposition will have to be assured that he will not run away from the debate. They will have to hear the full answer without creating a ruckus.’ However, Kiren Rijiju did not say when Amit Shah will be present to speak in the House.
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi wrote in a post on social media, ‘The use of force against the protesting students in Jharkhand is an unjustified incident. Students have the right to protest peacefully and a solution can be found through dialogue. The Jharkhand government should listen to these students and find an immediate solution to their problems.’
