Bhubaneswar,Odisha : Odisha’s rural products are finding a wider audience at the Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav (BVM) 2026 in New Delhi, where the Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) is participating for the first time.
The four-day business event is being held from August 12 to 15 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan. ORMAS has brought products from all 30 districts of Odisha to the national platform, offering artisans, weavers, rural entrepreneurs and producer groups an opportunity to showcase their work before buyers and business stakeholders from across India and abroad.
The ORMAS pavilion presents a diverse collection representing Odisha’s traditional craftsmanship and rural enterprise. Handlooms, handicrafts, home décor products, accessories, spices and food items form part of the showcase, highlighting the state’s rich cultural heritage and the growing potential of its rural economy.
The pavilion was inaugurated by Dr Monica Priyadarshini, IAS, CEO of ORMAS, in the presence of the Additional CEO (Finance), ORMAS, and other officials.
ORMAS is using the event not only to promote Odisha’s products but also to build stronger business and market connections. The participation is aimed at creating B2B opportunities and opening new avenues for rural producers to connect with buyers, traders, exporters and other industry stakeholders.
The platform is also expected to help producer groups explore partnerships, expand their customer base and identify opportunities in wider domestic and international markets. By connecting rural enterprises directly with larger markets, the initiative seeks to strengthen livelihoods while encouraging entrepreneurship across Odisha.
The participation at BVM 2026 comes alongside ORMAS’s recent establishment of a pop-up store at DLF Avenue, Saket, New Delhi, further expanding the presence of Odisha’s rural products in the national capital.
The Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav is being held at Bharat Mandapam from August 12 to 15, with business delegates allowed entry from 10 am to 7 pm and general visitors from 3 pm to 7 pm.
ORMAS’s debut participation at the Mahotsav marks an important step in taking Odisha’s rural products, traditional craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit beyond the state. With products representing all 30 districts on display, the initiative aims to create stronger market linkages and new business opportunities for artisans, weavers, community-based organisations, producer groups and rural entrepreneurs.
