Pulwama, J&K : Jammu and Kashmir National Democratic Party (JK NDP) Presisdent Nabi Dar has criticised the elected representatives of Pulwama for allegedly giving greater attention to roads within their respective constituencies while the major roads connecting different parts of the district continue to remain in a dilapidated condition.

Dar questioned the MLAs over the promises made to the people during the elections and said that improving the overall road infrastructure of the district should be among their top priorities.

He said that several main roads in Pulwama have developed potholes and have suffered considerable damage, causing inconvenience to commuters, transporters and residents. He urged the elected representatives to look beyond constituency specific concerns and raise issues affecting the entire district.

“People were given several assurances before the elections. Now is the time to fulfil those commitments and address the problems being faced by the public,” Dar said.

He stressed that the condition of major roads directly affects daily life, transportation, trade, tourism and the movement of emergency services, and therefore cannot be ignored.

Dar urged the concerned MLAs and the administration to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the district’s main roads and ensure their urgent repair and macadamisation.

He also called for proper monitoring of ongoing road works, saying that public money should be utilised effectively and that durable, quality construction must be ensured.

“Development should not be limited to a particular constituency. The people of the entire district deserve safe, smooth and well-maintained roads,” Dar said, urging the elected representatives to prioritise public convenience and act on their electoral commitments.
