Gandhinagar, Gujarat : Parents and students have been worried after receiving bomb threats via email to three well-known schools in Ahmedabad—DPS Bopal, Udgam School and Zydus School. On the other hand, a threatening message was also received on the email ID of the District and Sessions Court of Gandhinagar. As soon as the incident was reported, the police, fire brigade and bomb disposal teams became active.
Security arrangements were immediately made after receiving the threatening email at Zydus School in Vejalpur area of Ahmedabad and DPS School in Bopal. As a precaution, the school premises were evacuated and the students were given leave and sent home safely. Considering the seriousness of the incident, the Bomb Disposal and Detection Squad, Fire Department and local police teams reached the spot.
Information has also come to light that Udgam School in Thaltej area has also received a bomb threat. The police were informed after receiving a threatening message while checking the email. After that, intensive checking has been carried out by the police in the school premises. Fear and anxiety are being seen among the parents of the children as several schools have received threats at the same time. According to police sources, the number of institutions receiving threats may increase after checking the emails of other schools.
After Ahmedabad, the District and Sessions Court of Gandhinagar has also received a bomb threat. The court premises were evacuated keeping in mind the security after receiving a threatening message on the court’s email ID. A police convoy immediately reached the spot and started an investigation. Currently, investigations are being conducted by security teams at the relevant places. In the wake of such threats being received continuously, the vigilance has been increased by the administration.
