PM Modi lauds the growing strength and trust in BRICS
New Delhi : On the second day of the multilateral event being held in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the growing strength, appeal, and unprecedented trust associated with BRICS.
Presiding over the BRICS session on strengthening inclusive global governance and multilateralism, PM Modi stated that the cooperation and support among BRICS members have transformed a shared vision into a ‘win-win’ partnership.
PM Modi said, “We extend a warm welcome to all of you to the expanding BRICS family. Today, this auditorium brings together diverse continents, cultures, and developmental journeys. This stands as a testament to the growing strength and appeal of BRICS, as well as the unprecedented trust people place in it.”
He further added, “During India’s BRICS presidency, we have focused our efforts on four pillars: resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability. I am pleased that, with your cooperation and support, we have been able to translate our shared vision into a partnership that benefits everyone.”
The Prime Minister also noted that global tensions are constantly rising and that no crisis remains confined to a single region. PM Modi said, “Today, tensions across the world are escalating, having a severe and widespread impact on the lives of ordinary people. Pandemics, climate disasters, and supply chain disruptions have demonstrated that in today’s interconnected world, no crisis remains limited to just one region.” He further stated, “That is why we have placed special emphasis on strengthening the BRICS group and enhancing its resilience to withstand difficult situations. It is equally important to identify challenges in a timely manner, prepare for them, and take immediate action. With this approach, a consensus has been reached on an integrated BRICS early warning system to prevent and combat infectious diseases. Guidelines for the integration of early warning data for disaster management have been formulated. The BRICS logistics supply chain cooperation framework will help make our supply chains more reliable and robust.”
Earlier, PM Modi posed for the BRICS group family photo alongside other world leaders at Bharat Mandapam. PM Modi stood in the center, flanked by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The concluding segment of the summit focuses on the key pillars of India’s 2026 BRICS presidency: resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability.
