New Delhi: A bold statement, a political controversy, and a clear message — Mahua Moitra says her loyalty cannot be bought.
Amid growing political discussions over changes within the All India Trinamool Congress, senior party leader Mahua Moitra has made a strong statement, rejecting rumours that she could join the Bharatiya Janata Party or extend support to the National Democratic Alliance.
The speculation surfaced amid reports of internal challenges within the TMC after the party’s long rule in West Bengal came to an end and some leaders reportedly shifted their political allegiance. Responding to the rumours, Mahua Moitra gave a sharp reply and made it clear that she would not leave her party.
“Even if my head is cut off, I will not join the BJP. No amount of money can buy me,” Moitra said while expressing her commitment to her political ideology and party.She further stated that although some leaders have left the TMC, the party has not collapsed.
According to Moitra, many who changed sides did so due to pressure, fear, or personal benefits, but she would never compromise her principles for power or money.
Highlighting the party’s support base, Moitra said the TMC continues to have strong public backing and pointed to its vote share in the recent election as evidence that the organisation remains a significant political force.
Her strong remarks have added fresh fuel to the political debate in Bengal, with supporters praising her stand while opponents continue to question the future direction of the TMC.
