33-Year-Old IPS Probationer C.A. Ramdas Resigns Before Beginning Service in Odisha.
Bhubaneswar : A fresh concern has emerged in Odisha’s police administration as another young IPS officer has decided to leave government service.
This comes shortly after the resignation of Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena, making it the second high-profile exit in a short span.According to reports, C.A. Ramdas, a 33-year-old IPS probationer from the 2025 batch, has submitted his resignation to the Odisha government. Ramdas had cleared the prestigious Civil Services Examination last year and was recently allotted the Odisha cadre.
Originally from Maharashtra, Ramdas is currently undergoing his initial training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), Hyderabad. Sources said that he is still in the first phase of training and has not yet taken up any posting or served in Odisha.
The resignation has drawn attention as it comes soon after another young IPS officer’s exit from the state cadre. The back-to-back decisions by two officers within a short period have sparked discussions across administrative circles.
While the exact reason behind Ramdas’s resignation has not been officially disclosed, the development has raised questions about the factors influencing young civil servants to reconsider their careers in government service.
