Hyderabad : A grand pre-release event for South superstar Yash’s upcoming film ‘Toxic’ was held in Hyderabad. A major accident occurred during the event when the sound setup collapsed amidst a massive crowd, injuring two people.
Following the incident, the actor paused his speech to assess the situation and urged officials to assist the injured. The injured individuals have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The event was taking place at Malla Reddy University in Hyderabad. Thousands of people had gathered at the venue. Despite repeated police requests for the crowd to step back, many moved close to the stage.
A video from the scene has surfaced, showing some youths climbing structures around the venue. Some were seen climbing the poles supporting the sound system when it suddenly collapsed, causing chaos at the site.
Yash was delivering a speech on stage at the time; the collapse disrupted the sound and lighting systems. Upon learning of the incident, he stopped his speech and inquired about the students’ well-being: “Hey, be careful. Is everything okay there? Is everyone safe?”
Moments later, he asked officials to check on them. The two injured individuals were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
Yash resumed his speech after organizers confirmed that the situation was under control.
‘Toxic’ is set to release in theaters on August 26. The film also stars Nayanthara in a lead role and is directed by Geetu Mohandas.
