New Delhi : Mokama MLA Anant Singh has suffered a major setback from the Supreme Court in the Dularchand Yadav murder case. Staying the bail order granted by the Patna High Court, the apex court has directed him to surrender by December 1. Anant Singh had sought relief from an immediate surrender, citing his daughter’s wedding, but the court did not accept his request.

During the hearing, the Supreme Court remarked that it would be incorrect to view a murder case merely as a political dispute. The investigation into the matter is ongoing, and witnesses will be examined during the trial. The court also directed the police to complete the investigation within four months.

Following the Supreme Court’s order, Anant Singh must surrender by December 1. This comes as another significant blow to him, following his expulsion from the JDU. All eyes are now on the further legal proceedings in this case.
