The Bharatiya Janata Party has recently made important appointments of new in-charges and co-in-charges for various states. National General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Vinod Tawde has been given the responsibility of in-charge of Uttar Pradesh. Along with him, Jagdish Ishwarbhai Patel has been appointed as the co-in-charge of Uttar Pradesh. Rajya Sabha MP and National Headquarters in-charge Tarun Chugh has been given the responsibility of the new in-charge of Gujarat.
With this appointment made with Gujarat in the center, it is expected that the organizational work of BJP in the state will be further accelerated. National General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Satish Poonia has been made the in-charge of Punjab. All these senior leaders will work actively in the coming time to strengthen the organization from the ground up by coordinating with the party workers in their respective allotted states.
Assembly elections are due in Uttar Pradesh next year, where the BJP under Yogi Adityanath is completing its 10-year term and is preparing to score a hat-trick for the third time. In Gujarat, the BJP has been in power for almost four decades. It is also the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The in-charges of all three states are also Rajya Sabha MPs and have strong organisational capabilities.
Meanwhile, in Punjab, the BJP is preparing for a comeback. Speculations about an alliance between the BJP and the Akali Dal are gaining momentum again. Satish Punia, who was appointed as the in-charge of Punjab, said that he has just been given the responsibility. It is too early to say anything, but there is an undercurrent against the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab. The BJP had achieved a similar turnaround in Delhi too. Earlier, Punia played a key role in the BJP’s hat-trick in Haryana.
Vinod Tawde was born on July 20, 1963, in a middle-class Marathi family in Mumbai. In his early days with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, he was greatly influenced by Bal Apte and Madan Das Devi. Later, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani became his sources of inspiration. Vinod Tawde has previously served as BJP in-charge in several states including Bihar.
