BJP Candidate’s One-Vote Shock in Rajasthan Leaves Everyone Surprised

Rajasthan : An unusual and eye-catching election result has emerged from the Rajasthan municipal elections, leaving many people surprised. A BJP candidate contesting from Ward No. 13 of Parbatsar Municipality in Didwana-Kuchaman district received just one vote. What makes the result even more unusual is the candidate’s claim that the lone vote he received was not even his own.

BJP candidate Kailash Chand, who contested from Ward No. 13, reportedly said that his name was registered in the voter list of Ward No. 12. Because his voter registration was in a different ward, he could not cast his own vote in Ward No. 13, where he was contesting the election. As a result, the single vote recorded in his favour came from another voter of Ward No. 13.

In other words, while Kailash Chand entered the electoral battle seeking votes from the people of Ward No. 13, he ultimately ended up with just one vote in his favour and he could not even vote for himself. The unusual result has now attracted attention on social media and sparked discussion about the candidate’s electoral performance.

In Ward No. 13, Congress candidate Hina Khanam emerged victorious with 376 votes, while independent candidate Rashid Khan secured 195 votes and finished second. In comparison, Kailash Chand managed to secure only one vote, making his result one of the most talked-about figures from the municipal election.

The ‘one-vote’ story does not end there. In Ward No. 20 of Parbatsar Municipality, RLP candidate Bhanwar Lal also reportedly received just one vote. However, Kailash Chand’s case has drawn particular attention because of his explanation that he could not cast his own vote due to his voter registration being in another ward.

Despite the individual results, the overall electoral contest in Parbatsar Municipality was much closer. Out of the 25 wards, the Congress won 13 seats, while the BJP secured 12 seats, resulting in a narrow one-seat difference between the two major political parties.

The incident has also brought attention to the importance of voter-list details and ward-wise electoral registration. Kailash Chand’s case is particularly unusual because he was a candidate in one ward while his own name remained registered as a voter in another. This meant that although he was eligible to contest from Ward No. 13, he was not able to cast his personal vote there.

With thousands of candidates contesting and election results being declared across Rajasthan, the ‘one vote’ result of Kailash Chand has emerged as one of the most unusual and widely discussed outcomes. From social media users to political circles, the result has become a talking point not just because he received only one vote, but because even that single vote was not his own.
