Kupwara, J & K : Security forces recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and other items from the forward Sudhpora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday officials said.
The recovery was made during a joint operation conducted by the Army’s 1/1 Gorkha Rifles and the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the forward area, officials said.
According to officials, the recovered material included one improvised explosive device (IED), six RPG boosters, three RPG rounds, 11 AK rounds and 15 Pika machine gun rounds. Two packets of medicines were also recovered from the spot, they added.
The recovery was made as the joint forces continued their operation in the area. Further details regarding the operation and the source of the recovered material are awaited.
