Srinagar, J & K : Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Wednesday issued a stern warning to those supporting terrorism, asserting that the police would track them down and ensure they face legal action.

Addressing a gathering on Police Commemoration Day 2026, Prabhat reiterated the commitment of Jammu and Kashmir Police to uproot terrorism and dismantle its support network across the Union Territory.

“Our objective is clear: to identify and completely uproot terrorism and every element associated with terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, warning that those involved in supporting terror activities would not be allowed to evade the law.

The DGP also called for unity, mutual trust and communal harmony, urging people to remain vigilant against forces attempting to disturb peace and stability. He said social harmony was essential for the progress of Jammu and Kashmir and called upon the public to extend support to the police, Army and other security forces in maintaining peace.

Emphasising the protection of vulnerable sections, Prabhat stressed the need to prevent crimes against women and children, strengthen monitoring mechanisms and ensure timely justice for victims. He also called for intensified action against drug trafficking, describing the fight against narcotics as crucial to safeguarding the future of youth and the well-being of families.

Paying tribute to police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty, the DGP said the best tribute to the martyrs would be to build a safe, peaceful, harmonious and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir. He also underlined the importance of continued support and welfare measures for the families of fallen personnel.

Prabhat commended the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and Central Armed Police Forces for their courage, dedication and commitment to duty, while wishing them success and safety in their operations.
