Mumbai: The Agarwal family, still reeling from the tragic death of 25-year-old Ketan Agarwal, has suffered yet another heartbreaking loss. Ketan’s grandfather, Devichand Agarwal (71), passed away on Saturday night, just 17 days after his grandson’s death, leaving the family devastated by back-to-back tragedies.
According to family members, Devichand’s health began declining soon after Ketan’s death on June 18. The emotional trauma of losing his grandson reportedly took a severe toll on him, and he struggled to recover from the shock.
On Saturday evening, Devichand suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to a private hospital in Pune. Despite medical efforts, doctors declared him dead at 9:45 pm.Relatives believe the grief over Ketan’s untimely death significantly affected his health.
However, there has been no official medical confirmation stating that his death was directly caused by emotional distress or “broken heart syndrome.”Ketan Agarwal died after falling into a gorge at Lohagad Fort on June 18. What was initially believed to be an accidental fall later turned into a high-profile murder investigation.
Police subsequently arrested Ketan’s fiancée, Siya Goyal, along with her alleged boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary, in connection with the case. Investigators are continuing to probe the circumstances surrounding Ketan’s death.
With Devichand Agarwal’s passing, the family is now mourning two devastating losses within less than three weeks. Even as they perform the last rites of the family patriarch, their demand for justice in Ketan’s death remains unwavering, hoping the ongoing investigation will bring answers and accountability.
