Terrorist Claims Over 30 Members Killed Across Pakistan, PoK
New Delhi : A purported video from Pakistan involving a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative has sparked a fresh security debate after the militant allegedly claimed that more than 30 members of the terror organisation were killed over the past three to four years, attributing the deaths to Indian intelligence agencies.
According to reports, the video was recorded in May and has recently gained traction on social media, where the speaker allegedly claimed that several Lashkar-linked individuals were targeted by what he described as “unknown killers”. The operative, identified in reports as Rizwan, reportedly made the claims while addressing a gathering and alleged that members and supporters of the organisation had been targeted in several Pakistani cities, including Peshawar, Karachi and Rawalpindi, as well as in Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot.
He also reportedly claimed that several militants had been killed in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), alleging that Indian agents were behind some of these operations. If independently established, such claims would indicate significant losses among members associated with the Pakistan-based terror network, but the allegations made in the video have not been independently verified.
The purported statement has nevertheless attracted considerable attention because it comes amid longstanding reports and allegations concerning the deaths of Pakistan-based militants and other individuals associated with terror organisations in the region. In the video, Rizwan is also reportedly heard discussing the deaths of other militants, including an individual identified as Rizwan Hanif, while making inflammatory remarks against other countries and communities.
Reports further suggest that the speaker targeted the United States and Israel in his remarks. The video has intensified discussion among security observers over the activities and vulnerabilities of terror networks operating from Pakistani territory, particularly those linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, an organisation with a long history of involvement in militant activities and attacks against India.
The alleged admission has also drawn attention to the question of how such networks have been affected by the loss of key members and operatives in recent years. However, the claims circulating online should be treated with caution, as the identity of the speaker, the circumstances surrounding the recording, the exact number of deaths and the alleged involvement of Indian agencies have not been independently established based solely on the video.
Authorities have not publicly confirmed the allegations contained in the recording. The emergence of the video, however, has once again put the spotlight on Pakistan-based militant networks and the wider security situation surrounding India, Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, with intelligence and counterterrorism activities remaining a major area of regional concern.
