New Delhi : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has launched a campaign against the government titled ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’; however, a website named ‘Jhooth Ki Goonj’ has emerged in response, drawing public attention.

While the creators of the ‘Jhooth Ki Goonj’ website remain unidentified, the content published there suggests it was created by individuals opposed to the Congress party.

This website, launched to counter Rahul Gandhi’s campaign, has attracted the attention of Bharatiya Janata Party supporters. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has held four events under the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ banner so far. Meanwhile, the ‘Jhooth Ki Goonj’ website claims to fact-check the assertions made by Rahul during these events.

Although the website is garnering support from BJP backers, the BJP itself has denied any association with it.

There is no direct mention of the creators on the site, yet it has been trending on social media since its launch. Some have attributed the initiative to ‘nationalist researchers’ and Gen Z.

The ‘jhoothkigoonj’ website states: “Four rallies, forty claims, and one answer key. Here are all the lies Rahul Gandhi uttered during his so-called ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ program.” This clearly indicates where the website stands regarding Rahul’s campaign against the BJP.

The website notes: “Rahul Gandhi made 40 claims across the four ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ campaign events; of these, 29 were incorrect and 11 were misleading.” It further notes that Rahul had stated that out of every 1,000 youths seeking employment, only about 36 would secure a permanent job. He claimed that, roughly speaking, 300 would remain unemployed, while approximately 700 would become gig workers (temporary or contract workers).

Refuting this claim, the website cites PLFS unit-level data, asserting that in 2025, 26 out of every 100 graduates aged 15–29 hold salaried jobs.

Regarding Rahul’s claim that approximately 29% of women face physical violence, the website points out that he relied on outdated NFHS data.

The website states, “Since the Modi government came to power, NFHS data has shown a clear decline in physical and/or sexual violence committed by spouses: the figure has dropped from 37.2% in 2005–06 to 22.3% in 2023–24.”
