New Delhi: A joint counter-terrorist mock exercise was conducted at Delhi Airport to assess real time crisis response mechanisms, strengthen inter-agency coordination and enhance preparedness to deal with emerging security threats.
The exercise involved personnel from the CISF, Delhi Police, National Security Guard (NSG), Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), Counter Intelligence Wing (CIW), Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), RAXA, Delhi Police Anti Terror Squad (DP ATS), Medanta, Delhi Fire Service (DFS), Centralised Accident and Trauma Services (CATS), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF), among other stakeholder agencies.
The mock exercise provided participating agencies an opportunity to validate their operational response, communication channels and coordination during a simulated counter terrorism scenario at the airport.
Officials said such exercises are aimed at identifying gaps, improving response mechanisms and ensuring seamless coordination among security, police, medical, fire and airport agencies during emergencies.
The exercise reaffirmed the agencies’ commitment to strengthening aviation security, enhancing emergency response capabilities and ensuring coordinated action against potential threats.
