Tragic Blaze in Delhi : Mother, Two Daughters Die After Fire Engulfs Third Floor
New Delhi : A tragic fire claimed the lives of a woman and her two daughters after a massive blaze broke out in a residential building in South Delhi on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred on the third floor of a residential building in B.K. Dutt Colony on Lodhi Road, near Chawla Sweets. According to the Delhi Fire Service, an emergency call reporting the fire was received at around 10:21 a.m.
Soon after receiving the alert, multiple firefighting units, including a water tender, water bowser, and breathing apparatus-equipped rescue teams, were rushed to the scene. Firefighters launched an intensive rescue operation as flames engulfed a room on the building’s third floor.
During the search operation, firefighters recovered the bodies of a woman and her two daughters from inside the affected room. Officials said the victims had sustained severe burn injuries and were declared dead at the scene.
After nearly an hour of firefighting, the blaze was brought under control by 11:10 a.m. Fire personnel then carried out cooling operations to prevent the fire from reigniting.The identities of the victims have not yet been officially confirmed. Police are working to identify the deceased and contact their family members.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown. A forensic team, along with Delhi Police, has reached the spot and launched an investigation to determine what triggered the deadly blaze.
The heartbreaking incident has sent shockwaves through the locality, with residents expressing grief over the loss of three lives in one of the city’s most tragic residential fire accidents in recent times.
