Puri,Odisha : When Mahaprabhu Jagannath calls, every achievement, every medal, and every worldly honour fade before His divine grace.In the sacred abode of Jagannath Dham, Puri, where millions of devotees seek eternal blessings during the holy Rath Yatra, another distinguished devotee bowed before the Lord of the Universe. This time, it was not an athlete standing on an Olympic podium, but a humble devotee standing before Mahaprabhu with folded hands and a heart full of gratitude.
For Olympian and Padma Shri awardee Gagan Narang, the divine darshan at the Adapa Mandap was more than a visit , it was a deeply spiritual experience that transcended victories and records. In the presence of Lord Jagannath, the champion found a moment of peace, devotion, and eternal bliss, calling the sacred darshan one of the greatest blessings of his life.
Indian shooting legend and Padma Shri awardee Gagan Narang offered prayers to the Holy Trinity at the Adapa Mandap in Puri during the ongoing Rath Yatra.
After the darshan, the 2012 Olympic bronze medallist said he felt truly blessed to receive the divine blessings of Lord Jagannath. Expressing his emotions, Narang described the experience as unforgettable and said it would remain one of the most cherished memories of his life.
He was welcomed by Additional Director General of Police Soumendra Priyadarshi, IG Pinak Mishra, Sports Department Additional Secretary Bijay Kumar Swain, Additional District Magistrate Nilamadhab Bhoi, Sports Officer Chandan Sahu, and other officials.
Gagan Narang won the bronze medal in the men’s 10m Air Rifle event at the 2012 London Olympics, becoming India’s first medallist at those Games.
