Leh/Kargil : The Ladakh Administration has inaugurated 100 Saksham Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Labs at Anganwadi Centres across the Union Territory, with 50 labs each established in Leh and Kargil districts.
The initiative marks a step towards creating technology-enabled, inclusive and stimulating learning environments for children at the grassroots level, officials said.
Launched under Mission Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0, the ICT labs will use age-appropriate digital and audio visual content to make early childhood learning more interactive, engaging and enjoyable.
The technology enabled facilities are aimed at complementing play-based learning and supporting the development of children’s language, communication, cognitive, creative and motor skills in a recreational environment.
The administration said technology would be used as a support tool rather than a substitute for human interaction, with the focus on nurturing curiosity, creativity and active participation among children.
The initiative is expected to strengthen early childhood care and education at Anganwadi Centres and provide children in Ladakh with greater exposure to modern learning tools from an early age.
