J& K : Congress leader Umer Jaan has announced that he is likely to begin an indefinite hunger strike at Press Colony to protest recent remarks made by Mehbooba Mufti, which he believes have hurt the sentiments of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Umer Jaan stated that public representatives must exercise responsibility and sensitivity in their statements, particularly on issues that affect the dignity and aspirations of the people.

He called on Mehbooba Mufti to issue a public apology if her remarks have caused hurt or misunderstanding among the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said his proposed hunger strike is intended to be a peaceful and democratic expression of protest, aimed at drawing attention to the importance of accountability in public life. He appealed to supporters to maintain peace and uphold democratic values throughout the protest.
