Ranbir-Yash’s ‘Ramayana’ Trailer Creates a Storm, But Adipurush Still Ahead in Views

New Delhi : The trailer of the much-awaited epic film ‘Ramayana’ has created a massive buzz among audiences, with viewers praising its stunning visuals, grand scale, VFX and powerful character presentations. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the highly anticipated film has generated tremendous excitement on social media, but when it comes to the first 24-hour trailer-view record, it has failed to surpass Prabhas-starrer ‘Adipurush’.

According to reports, the Hindi trailer of ‘Ramayana’ recorded around 36.4 million views in its first 24 hours, while the combined view count across languages reportedly reached nearly 45 million. In comparison, the trailer of ‘Adipurush’ is reported to have garnered around 74.2 million views within its first day, keeping Prabhas’ film ahead in the much-discussed trailer-view race.

Despite falling short of the ‘Adipurush’ benchmark, ‘Ramayana’ has received a strong and largely positive response from viewers, particularly for its larger-than-life presentation of the epic story. The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and Yash as Ravana, making the project one of the most eagerly awaited Indian films.

The trailer offers glimpses of the mythological world of the Ramayana, spectacular battle sequences and powerful portrayals of its central characters, further increasing curiosity among moviegoers. The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres during Diwali 2026, and expectations are already soaring. Meanwhile, ‘Adipurush’ had generated enormous attention before its release and achieved impressive trailer-view numbers, although the film later faced strong criticism from sections of audiences and critics over its presentation and execution.

With ‘Ramayana’, filmmakers now face the challenge of meeting the enormous expectations created by its scale, star cast and subject matter. Although Ranbir Kapoor and Yash’s ‘Ramayana’ could not break the first-day trailer-view benchmark associated with ‘Adipurush’, its strong audience response has established the film as one of the most talked-about upcoming Indian movies.

The big question now is whethe Ranbir’s portrayal of Lord Ram and Yash’s Ravana will eventually win the hearts of audiences when the epic arrives on the big screen.
