New Delhi : A photograph showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping conversing with smiles during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in the Chinese city of Tianjin had previously garnered significant attention.

Similarly, a video showing PM Modi shaking hands with both Xi Jinping and Putin at the SCO summit that concluded in Bishkek on Tuesday is currently a topic of discussion.

In the video, as soon as Xi Jinping extended his hand, PM Modi reached out with his right hand to shake it; simultaneously, as Putin arrived on the scene, the Prime Minister warmly grasped his hand with his left hand.

This five-second video, showcasing personal diplomacy, was recorded just before the group photo session of the top leaders from SCO nations.

According to ANI, after the group photo, Xi Jinping and PM Modi were seen conversing while walking towards the meeting room, and they shook hands again upon arriving there.

On Tuesday, on the sidelines of the summit, Prime Minister Modi met with Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon and discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two nations across various sectors.

PM Modi also met with the President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR), Thongloun Sisoulith, and discussed strengthening bilateral ties.

Earlier, on Monday, the Prime Minister held bilateral meetings with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov, Russian President Putin, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Pakistan was irked by witnessing PM Modi’s diplomacy at the SCO Summit 2026. While PM Modi was seen with both Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin, a video of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has surfaced showing him running after Putin.

After the group photo of the leaders attending the summit, as everyone began to leave, Shehbaz Sharif ran after the Russian President and grasped his hand. He then proceeded to speak with him. This video of Shehbaz Sharif chasing after Putin is going viral on social media.
