New Delhi : The BJP has planned a month-long series of events to celebrate PM Modi’s 76th birthday (September 17). The highlight of these celebrations is a bike rally spanning the distance from Vadnagar, Gujarat (Modi’s birthplace), to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh (his parliamentary constituency), which is expected to see the participation of thousands of people.
According to party sources, groups of 10 bikers each will travel between Vadnagar and Varanasi. Public engagement and outreach programs will also be organized along the route.
This event is also an effort to strengthen connections with the youth ahead of the assembly elections scheduled for next year in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. Elections in Uttar Pradesh are due early next year, while those in Gujarat are slated for the end of the year.
The events have been organized on a grand scale this time because, on October 7, Modi will complete 25 years as the head of the government (a tenure that includes his time as the Chief Minister of Gujarat).
The programs, commencing on September 17, include drawing and speech competitions for school students across the country, social media-based hackathons and innovation programs, and 25 welfare campaigns.
Responsibility for various events has been entrusted to several organizational leaders and workers, including Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw, Mansukh Mandaviya, Smriti Irani, VD Sharma, and Tejasvi Surya.
Additionally, PM Modi may address students on September 5 during the centenary celebrations of the Shri Ram College of Commerce. While the BJP organizes events on Modi’s birthday every year, the scope of the celebrations has been significantly expanded this time.
